Concierge Lounge and 41st Floor Renovations
Landis completed construction on a new concierge lounge at the New Orleans Marriott on Canal Street. The project team was tasked with the renovation of a new concierge lounge space within a portion of the existing ground level restaurant space.
The YAYA Arts Center, located on LaSalle Street in Central City, now has their very own home. The timeline to complete this project was extremely fast-paced, but Landis was able to complete the project on-schedule and under budget. The schedule gave Landis five months from ground-up to completion for this community institute.
The new performance venue and educational center will transformed the Gator’s Discount Store into a custom-made permanent home for the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra. Located on Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard in New Orleans’s Central City,
Designed by Cesar Pelli, the St. Katharine Drexel Chapel addition to the campus finally brought to life the original visions of Xavier’s founder to provide a religious place of respite for the university. The massive 400-seat church sanctuary with vaulting octagonal ceilings and detailed limestone walls was built with a completely hidden infrastructure.
For more than 60 years, Brennan’s Restaurant in New Orleans has maintained an almost mythical status as one of the nation’s great culinary landmarks. Every setting within the establishment honors a distinctive element of New Orleans’s traditions, history, and cultural influence.
Historic Renovation & Pêche Restaurant
Landis completed two major projects in the heart of the Warehouse District, at the corner of Magazine and Julia streets – Pêche Seafood Grill and 450 Julia Street, consisting of nine high-end residential units and an art gallery.
New Orleans’s only four-star hotel, the Windsor Court Hotel, completed its first major renovation since opening in 1984. As the general contractor for the project, Landis Construction was responsible for the fast-tracked project that included overhaul of the hotel’s 316 guest rooms, public spaces and meeting rooms, as well as the addition of a new bar, pool and full-service spa.
Landis’s work on the YAYA Arts Center has earned the company National Excellence in Construction Pyramid Award from Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) in the Community/Public Service (Under $100 million).
“Landis earned this Excellence in Construction Pyramid Award through their dedication to safety, quality craftsmanship and teamwork and Associated Builders and Contractors is pleased to honor them,” said 2016 ABC National Chair David Chapin, president of Willmar Electric Service, Lincoln, Neb.
During 2015 Landis employees worked a total of 172,383 hours without any accidents, injuries, or other recordable incidents – meeting our goal of ZERO accidents/injuries!!! Landis employees, along with representatives from our insurance agency, insurance carrier, and safety company, celebrated this accomplishment yesterday with a party and employee awards.
Landis was awarded two 2015 Excellence in Construction (EIC) awards by the ABC New Orleans/Bayou Chapter. The EIC awards, “…honor the skill and creativity of the entire team – contractor, owner, architect and engineer – responsible for an outstanding merit shop construction project.
