During 2015 Landis employees worked a total of 172,383 hours without any accidents, injuries, or other recordable incidents – meeting our goal of ZERO accidents/injuries!!! Landis employees, along with representatives from our insurance agency, insurance carrier, and safety company, celebrated this accomplishment yesterday with a party and employee awards.
Three projects built by Landis received honors through the 2015 Louisiana Landmarks Society Awards for Excellence in Historic Preservation. The winning projects were: Pan American Life Insurance Building, 2400 Canal St; New Orleans Jazz Market, Oretha Castle Haley at Martin Luther King; and Marais Apartments, 1501 Canal St.
Built in the 19th century as a residence, the ‘Pink House’ has been used by the school for 50 years. Working closely with the Historic District Landmarks Commission (HDLC) the renovation and addition provides classroom space for all of the school’s Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students; approximately 1,200 square feet was added to the structure, while 5,600 square feet has been renovated.
