The Phase II expansion of the Aquarium of the Americas on the Mississippi River consisted of the addition of a new exhibit wing including the IMAX Theatre. The addition, which added approximately 22,000 square feet to the operating aquarium space, accomodates changing exhibits.
The IMAX Theatre includes a state of the art projection and sound system. The system was only the second one of its kind to be installed in the United States. Despite numerous challenges inherent with construction on the banks of the Mississippi River, the project was completed four months ahead of schedule.
