Grand Isle Restaurant
New Orleans, LA
The Grand Isle Restaurant was built in an existing shell space across from the Harrah’s Casino Parking Garage on Convention Center Boulevard at the corner of Lafayette Street and Fulton Street. Renovation of the 5,900 square foot facility consisted of installation of new underground plumbing systems, electrical, HVAC and fire protection. In addition, the construction of new base floors to house clear finished Brazilian Cherry wood floors in the dining and oyster bar areas along with subway tiles for the floors in the seating area of the bar, lavatories and quarry tile in the kitchen. The construction of the interior walls to create dining areas and bar included Pecky Cypress wood. The clean lines of the wood and dark knots made for an elegant and stylish transformation from an abandoned warehouse to a elegant yet casual fine dining establishment.
