Lacoste School & Field House

The project consisted of new construction of two buildings for the St. Bernard Parish School Board. The campus, which is an extension of Chalmette High School, consists of the Education Building and Field House. The Education Building is a three-story, 57,000 sq. ft. concrete superstructure that includes state-of-the-art science and computer labs, classrooms, staff lounges and administrative offices. The building includes a three-story rotunda with second and third floor balconies, as well as an exterior glazed block walls. The Field House is a single story, 47,000 sq. ft. building is shared with the high school. The facility functions as a gym, fitness area, wrestling gym, and natatorium with an Olympic-sized swimming pool. Details of the building include: full locker rooms with stainless steel partitioned private showers for the home and visiting teams, concession and ticket stands, and custom display cases. The swimming pool is a fully functional, competition style pool, which will be used for tournaments with neighboring parishes.
