Ralph’s on the Park

New Orleans, LA

The two story, 9,500 square foot building was originally built in 1860 by a French immigrant to be used as a coffeehouse and concession stand for City Park (the park area adjacent to the restaurant). The first floor consists of the main dining room and bar area. The second floor houses three private dining rooms, a balcony which overlooks historic City Park, office and storage areas, a liquor room and a fully insulated, temperature controlled wine room. A state-of-the-art kitchen downstairs plus a banquet kitchen upstairs have been built to simultaneously service the restaurant. An elevator was also added to upgrade the building.

Wherever possible, building materials were salvaged including brick walls, French doors and exterior ironwork. Original architectural elements are layered with new design features including dual-toned wood floors, and slanted, glazed v-joint tongue n’ groove ceilings.
