April 13, 2020 - Today, Landis has re-activated construction activity on project jobsites previously paused due to COVID-19. Two weeks ago, we made the difficult decision to close our jobsites in an effort to ensure the safety and well-being of our workers, their families, and surrounding community members. While both the City and State listed construction work as one of the approved Essential Services during the COVID-19 Stay at Home mandate, we believed a temporary closure of our projects was in the best interest of all involved parties, allowing us to step back and carefully assess each to determine the safest and most strategic path forward during this pandemic.
With construction on hold these past two weeks, our Project and Field Management teams have been actively planning for project completions and developing thorough COVID-19 Remobilization Decision Checklists to serve as guidelines moving forward. In assessing our active projects against these checklists, we are confident in our conclusion that they are safe and ready to proceed in a modified way. Similar to the decision to close, the decision to re-open was not taken lightly. While COVID-19 has brought unprecedented challenges here in New Orleans and across the globe, it has also provided us with a unique opportunity to re-group and re-strategize, which will translate into greater efficiency and safety across the board, both in the short- and long-term.
